Heart disease now affects more than 1.3 million Canadians. Heart attacks in women are on the rise, and women do not experience the same symptoms as men do that warn them of an impending heart attack. In women, the most common symptoms are pain in the arm(s), between the shoulder blades, shortness of breath, fatigue, nausea, stomach pain, sweating, and fatigue.
Lifestyle and dietary changes can go a long way in reducing the risks for heart disease, areas where naturopathic doctors have expertise.
